On the Diamond: Vets softball wins extra innings marathon; Carroll baseball rallies past Flour Bluff

The Eagles put up three runs late to win the first place battle over #25 Carroll. Tigers baseball overcame an early deficit to take the win at Whataburger Field.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Veterans Memorial and #25 Carroll have been touted as the softball teams to beat in District 29-5A and if their first place showdown Tuesday is any indication, that's certainly the case.

Vets scored three runs in the 12th inning to top the state-ranked Tigers 6-3 at Cabaniss Field. Parker Malone delivered a clutch two-run single to help give the Eagles sole possession of first place in the South Zone at 4-0. Carroll drops to 3-1 with the rematch between the two set for April 12th.
