CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A pair of 5A district championships was on the line for three Coastal Bend soccer teams on Friday.
For the boys, the Flour Bluff Hornets hosted the Victoria West Warriors at Hornet Stadium. The Hornets took a 1-0 lead that they would hold on to thanks to a shutout performance from goalkeeper Liam Hutchinson. Flour Bluff is now a back-to-back district champion.
As for the girls, the Gregory-Portland Wildcats faced the Flour Bluff Lady Hornets at Ray Akins Wildcat Stadium. The Wildcats built a 3-0 lead and held off the Hornets to keep them scoreless for the entire game.
