TIMELINE: New Bob Hall Pier could reopen Summer 2025

Nueces County will get blueprints of the new pier from engineers on Friday. If all goes well, construction could start as early as late June.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Work on the new Bob Hall Pier could start as early as this summer, and the pier could open by Summer 2025.

That timeline is if everything goes perfectly and there are no supply-chain or construction delays.

This was among the topics discussed at Thursday’s Nueces County Coastal Parks Board Meeting.

As previously reported, Nueces County will get blueprints of the new pier from engineers on March 1.

The pier will be one story with no restaurant, but it will be sound enough -- structurally -- to add a restaurant on top of the pier in the future.

Possible timeline of new Bob Hall Pier construction

March 1: Engineers deliver pier design blueprints to county engineers to review
March 18: Nueces County Coastal Parks Board to review and discuss design plans at a special meeting
March 20: Nueces County Commissioners will meet and could vote to move forward with the design
May 15: Earliest bids could open for companies to bid on the project. Bids will include build time. Estimated to be a 12-month build.
May 22: Nueces County could decide and announce the winning bid at this Commissioners Court meeting
June 22: Earliest construction could start on pier
June 2025: Earliest new Bob Hall Pier could open with a 12-month build time and no delays
