Rockport (KIII news) — Rockport officials whose jobs depend on tourism were watching their computer screens closely Friday as they awaited the results of a USA Today poll of their readers' favorite Texas beaches.
The result brought plenty of smiles.
Director of Tourism Sandy Jumper's office at the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce was crowded with people as the results came out. Rockport Beach was voted the best in the state.
Other area beaches made the Top 10. They include Port Aransas, which finished in sixth place, and Malaquite Beach at the Padre Island National Seashore, which finished in 10th.
