CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — CCPD told 3NEWS crews that a false alarm prompted a response from the department after an incident took place at West Oso High School Tuesday morning.
In a Facebook post from the district's Superintendent, parents were informed that the school was on a temporary lockdown related to a possible outside threat.
CCPD later released a statement saying that their investigation found there was never a threat to the school. The school was initially placed on locked down while officers conducted their investigation, and the lockdown has since been lifted.
Parents were not being allowed to pick up students when information of the lockdown was shared publicly at 12:45 p.m., but when our 3NEWS crews arrived at around 1 p.m., it appeared that school doors had been opened to let parents in to see their students.
