CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — City officials announced a portion of Leopard Street from Josephine Street to Culberson Street underneath State Highway 286 (Crosstown Expressway) will be closing beginning on Thursday, August 13.
This long-term closure is part of the Harbor Bridge construction project and is expected to remain in effect through 2021.
According to the City's Public Information Officer, two alternative detour routes have been established on Leopard Street to help motorists get to Martin Luther King Drive and Comanche Street.
The two alternative detour routes include:
- Detour 1: Traveling westbound on Leopard Street, turn right on to North Staples Street, continue and turn left on to Martin Luther King Drive, then turn left onto North Port Avenue.
- Detour 2: Traveling eastbound on Leopard Street, turn right onto Culberson Street, turn left onto Comanche Street, continue and turn left onto North Staples Street.
