CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — If you find yourself stuck in airport security screening lines during your frequent travels, this program is for you!

Corpus Christi residents can now enroll in the Transportation Security Administration's popular PreCheck program at Corpus Christi International Airport... but you need to act fast! The enrollment period ends on Feb. 17.

The PreCheck program allows travelers to go through an expedited security screening process that allows travelers to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt, keep their laptop in its case and their 3-1-1 compliant liquids/gels bag in a carry-on, in select TSA airport checkpoint screening lanes.

A “pop-up” office to help those interested enroll in the program will be open at the airport Aviation Conference Room near the Administration Offices on the 2nd floor at CCIA.

To participate in this local enrollment event, follow these steps to pre-enroll:

  1. Click here to access the application page
  2. Click “Start Application Now”, then click “New Enrollment”
  3. Fill out Steps and choose “Next” at the bottom of each screen
  4. Type in your location at Zip code/City/Airport Code box – search
  5. Choose location “Pop Up: CRP, 2/13-2/17” and click “Next”
  6. Select your desired appointment time (Please be sure to make note of your appointment time, no reminders will be sent out)

Applicants must bring proof of identity and U.S. citizenship. This can either be through a current U.S. passport, or through a driver’s license and a copy of their birth certificate, airport officials said. The enrollment process must be completed in person at CCIA in order for the proper paperwork and fingerprints to be collected.

Free parking (up to three hours in the short-term lot) will be available for those wanting to register.

The application fee is $78 and can be paid during the enrollment appointment with either a credit card, money order, company check or certified/cashier’s check. Cash or personal checks are not accepted.
