CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Fire Department was kept busy Tuesday night, mostly thanks to illegal fireworks being popped all over town.
Fire crews responded to multiple structure fires and brush fires, including one on Padre Island that took about two hours for firefighters to contain. It happened at the Padre Island National Seashore off Park Road 22.
Fireworks were believed to be the cause.
Nueces County ESD #2 responded along with other area fire departments to help get the blaze under control.
