Metro Elementary to take audiences to a land 'far far away' with Shrek the Musical Jr.

Catch the musical rendition of the iconic movie at 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday at the school's auditorium.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Metro Elementary School of Design is calling all fairy tell creatures!

Many talented students in the school of arts have been busy putting together Shrek the Musical Jr. based on the iconic 2001 DreamWorks Animation film "Shrek."

Princess Fiona, Donkey, Lord Farquaad and the rest of the squad will take the stage for three nights! The shows will start at 6p.m. Tuesday through Thursday at the school's auditorium.

3NEWS caught up with student Liam Loera who is playing Shrek in his first ever lead role! It's safe to say we can tell why he was casted as the star ogre himself.

"Attention all fairy tell things I'm gonna go see this Farquaad guy right now and get you all off my swamp and back to where you came from," Loera said while in character.

The young actors have been anxiously waiting to present the play to their peer, parents and the audience!
