Tyler Junior College gives all clear, says operations can resume after active shooter call believed to be hoax

Officers checked the main and west campus and said no evidence of a shooting was found.

TYLER, Texas — Tyler Junior College says normal operations can resume after the Tyler Police Department gave the all clear following an active shooter call believed to be a hoax at Tyler Junior College.

Officers checked the main and west campus and said no evidence of a shooting was found.

Hoax active shooter calls were also made Thursday to Del Mar College in Corpus Christi and Collin County Community College in Plano. Baylor University in Waco, Texas Wesleyan in Fort Worth, Texas A&M University in College Station, Lamar Institute of Technology in Beaumont and the Galen College of Nursing in San Antonio were victims of hoax phone calls, as well. 

CBS19 has reached out to with local and state law enforcement to see if the hoax calls are related.
