Murder suspect Abraham Anzaldua arrested by San Patricio Sheriff's Office

Rivera thanked the citizens who helped make the arrest possible.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — San Patricio Sheriff Oscar Rivera announced in a Facebook post Thursday evening that Abraham Anzaldua was spotted by multiple citizens, in Odem then headed to Sinton. 

Two law enforcement officers stopped and arrested Anzaldua and he was later taken into custody by the US Marshals Office. 

The sheriff thanked the citizens who helped make the arrest possible.

CCPD is searching for 48-year-old Abraham Anzaldua, who is suspected to be responsible for the murder of 67-year-old Alicia Anzaldua.

On Monday afternoon, the Corpus Christi Fire Department tended to a house fire on the 2700 block of Camargo Dr. After the fire was extinguished, firefighters found a woman's body inside of the remains of the house. The victim was later identified as Alicia Anzaldua by family and officials.

Police are currently investigating the victim's death as a homicide and have issued a Capital Murder arrest warrant for Abraham Anzaldua. 

Abraham Anzaldua is 6-foot-1, weighs around 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He has Anzaldua tattooed on his back.

Police say that Anzaldua was last seen leaving the house just minutes before the fire started. RING camera footage also shows him leaving the area in a black 2003 Chevrolet Silverado truck with a Texas license plate of JLW-2055.

Anzaldua is believed to be dangerous. Those who find Abraham Anzadula are advised to avoid approaching him and contact law enforcement immediately.
