CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Cruiser's Country Store is scheduled to close next month.
The small shop in Petronila co-owned by former Nueces County District Attorney Mark A. Gonzalez has struggled since an electrical fire in January 2023 caused the store to shut down for eight months.
"We had to make the difficult decision to cut our losses, despite our efforts to support our community," store management said in a Facebook post Wednesday.
The post states that the red building at the corner of FM 665 and County Road 61 will either be sold or rented, and includes a kitchen, a grill, a vent hood, a walk-in cooler, a new roof and air conditioning, along with a covered patio and a playground.
While the store will close in May, the kitchen only is scheduled to be open for several more days, according to the post.
