CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — San Patricio County authorities are investigating the apparent homicide of a 26-year-old male that happened in the area of County Road 984, near Sinton, Texas.
San Patricio County Sheriff Oscar Rivera said in Facebook post, the victim 26-year-old Robert Leija, was pronounced dead at the scene by Judge Susan Price.
28-year-old, David Chapa Jr, was arrested at the scene and was taken into custody. He currently faces murder charges.
According to Rivera, witnesses saw Leija go to the suspect's home to visit his biological daughter and an argument ensued. Leija was shot by Chapa and died at the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing.
